Healani first picked up a camera at age 10 with the encouragement of her farther and was always exposed to the newest photography equipment through which she honed her craft.

Her formal training began in 1988 at Windward Community College, and she credits her father, her teachers, and God for her inspiration and talent.

Her work has been featured in art shows at Windward Community College, Koa Gallery at Kapiolani Community College and in other local exhibitions, and has been reviewed in the Honolulu Advertiser.
